When he was three years old, his family joined the first wave of refugees from Fidel Castros communist Regime, after settling in Miami, Amaral developed an early interest in drawing and painting. "Ive been creating art for as long as I can remember," he explains. His talent did not go unrecognized. He won a summer scholarship to the University of Miami while still in high school, and was later accepted into the Prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York. Amaral graduated in 1988, and worked as the assistant to David Spada, designer of the world famous "Freedom Rings." Returning to Florida two years later, Lazaro has become one of the pioneer artists of the fashionable Miami Beach.
