<p>Sheila Golden grew up in New York, attending the School of Visual Arts and the New School of Social Research in New York City, then worked in graphic design and illustration. After a move to California, she studied film animation, lithography and ceramics, and received her bachelor's degree in fine art. While living in California, Sheila became an important member of Artrails Open Studios and a guest artist in various schools, teaching classes on watercolor collage. In 1996, Sheila was chosen as an artist-in-residence at the well-regarded Buena Vista Winery in Sonoma.<p>Sheila Golden has combined her multiple skills and talents to translate her love of nature into painting and collage. Her artwork is strongly influenced by the masters: Matisse, Chagall and Kandinsky, along with the great Abstract Expressionists. Sheila's commercial resume includes background art for Sesame Street, KQED Television, Hallmark, American Greetings and Sunrise Cards, among others, and is available in children's books, posters, prints, greeting cards and gift products.
